Sara Gauvreau is the Director of Altitude Academy – Miami and North Miami Beach Tennis Center. Having been a part of the Altitude Team for 8 years she now oversees the day to day business operations and delivery of the Sport and Academic Programs at NMB Tennis Center and FIU Bay Biscayne Campus. Sara has a diverse range of business management experience including 12 years of Sports and Club Facilities Management. She has a Master’s in Digital and Direct Marketing from the Institute of Direct Marketing in London, UK.

Sara is also our Performance Specialist & Health Coach and focuses on Performance Fitness, Nutrition, & Behavior Management. She has a Masters in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Barcelona and is a Certified Performance Specialist (NASM & ITPA), Sports Nutritionist (ISSA), Personal Trainer (ACE PT), Health Coach (ACE ACH), Balance Training (BOSU Expert) . She has 17 years of experience working over 3 continents with pro and amateur athletes (juniors and adults). Sara designs and delivers the daily fitness programs for our Junior Athletes. She is originally from Canada where she trained in various styles of competitive martial arts, and performed as a classical concert violinist until she moved to Europe where she pursued her interests in business, fitness and nutrition. She is passionate about tennis and running marathons.

Sports Nutrition: Special focus on research proven fuelling and hydration techniques to help professional and amateur athletes reach their optimum athletic performance. Also covered are important topics such as energy storage and usage, muscle build and repair, body composition and fat burn, recovery and preventive care. NCAA and WADA supplements and substance regulations.

Performance Fitness: Goal focused fitness training for developing and professional athletes using the latest science based performance models from NAMS, ACE and ITPA to achieve optimal physical condition. The fitness program includes flexibility, balance, cardiovascular endurance, muscle endurance, strength training, power development and SAQ training.

Health Coach: This Advanced Coaching Technique assists individuals to achieve their desired behavior changes, including healthful eating habits and physical activity. An in depth analysis of the individual´s current habits and perceptions relating to food, exercise and stress is conducted to create a personalized program which can be enjoyed and adhered to. SMART goals are created for continued success and positive results. The approach uses various researched based motivational techniques which are non-directive and encourage clients to make better choices through increased self efficacy and intrinsic motivation.
